Congressman Son NO:EL Receives no Jail Time for Hiding Drunk Driving

Rapper NO:EL (Jang Yong Joon), a son of a South Korean congressman, will receive no jail time for his drunk driving.

The rapper hit a motorcyclist whilst driving under the influence. Instead of admitting to his crimes, he attempted to bribe the motorcyclist with 10,000,000 KRW (~10,000 USD).

NO:EL also lied to a police officer that showed up on the scene, saying someone else was driving. An anonymous person showed up and took the blame for the accident. The rapper later on denied someone tried to take the blame for him.

NO:EL's father, Congressman Jang Jae Won of the Liberty Korea Party, offered a public apology on behalf of his son.

On January 10th, the Seoul District Prosecutor's Office revealed the rapper was indicted, but would not face jail time or detention because of his reckless driving, drunk driving, concealing his crime and attempted fraud.

What do you think about this case?
