SEKAI NO OWARI Announces First English Album

SEKAI NO OWARI will be releasing their first English album soon. Additionally they'll also start activities outside of Japan, in both the U.S. and in the international markets.

The news, which was exclusively delivered to JpopAsia.com, cites major artists collaborating with the band.

"In addition to their domestic activities, we are actively pursuing overseas markets, working with famous producers and artists such as Holland's Nicky Romero, Clean Bandit, famous for their huge hit "Rather Be", and OWLCITY, one of America's top artists. The songs we're working on are all in English," the group's manager Ryota Shishido said.

The group has already begun recording music for the new album. An expected release for both new songs and music videos have been set to the second half of 2016.

All songs except one are originally written in English. The exception is "Starlight Parade", which was released in 2011. The song has been translated and re-recorded with new instrumentals.

The album, currently untitled, will drop in early 2017. Before the album release, several singles will be released as well.

SEKAI NO OWARI's decision to release and English album stems from the popularity of their previous English songs, "Anti-Hero" and "SOS". Both were released in 2015 and reached #1 spot on the charts.

The track "Mr. Heartache" was also released in 2015 and the music video can be found below.
