X JAPAN's PATA Hospitalized With Diverticulitis & Pylethrombosis

X JAPAN's  guitarist PATA has been diagnosed, and subsequently hospitalized, with diverticulitis and pylethrombosis.

With the diagnoses it will be difficult for PATA to be musically active. The guitarist was hospitalized on February 15th and rushed to the intensive care unit. He's currently receiving an IV drip and is in a state of reduced activity.

Due to this situation, the concert "X Japan World Tour 2016 #XDAY", slated to be held on March 12th this year, will be postponed o March 4th, 2017. The concert was planned to take place at The SSE Arena, Wembley in England.

Fans of X JAPAN know the band was planning on releasing a new album, currently untitled, on March 11th. However, due to PATA's situation, it's unclear whether this will happen or not.

Diverticulitis is a common digestive disease where pouches forms within the bowel wall. The pylethrombosis, an uncommon thrombophlebitis of the portal vein, is most likely a complication following diverticulitis.
